Planning Roof Panel Lengths for Guesthouses
For repeated guesthouse units, connect panel lengths to one approved roof layout before multiplying the order. A small misunderstanding repeated across several buildings can create unnecessary cutting, shortages or incompatible deliveries.
01 · Confirm a typical unit and its variations
Provide the number of buildings, a dimensioned typical roof and a list of differences between units. Identify any panels needed for gable or triangular areas separately from the main roof. Keep each quantity tied to a drawing reference so changes can be checked before production.
02 · Plan cutting before ordering
For the Thailand project of eight guesthouses, SOMEI recommended 220 × 18 mm panels at 7.15 m for a roof described as 7 m long. Cutting flexibility also mattered for the triangular design. The length was chosen for that project; do not copy it without checking your roof edges, measurement convention and installation detail.
03 · Check the complete lightweight system
Tell us the proposed frame material and layout. Confirm panel compatibility, support requirements and connection details with the supplier and the responsible local professional. A lightweight panel can support a lightweight design approach, but it does not remove the need to verify the supporting structure.
04 · Separate the buying phases
If flooring, ceilings or accessories will follow the roof order, keep a schedule showing the specification, approval status, quantity and delivery phase for each group. The Thailand customer had additional flooring and ceiling purchases supplied in phases. A later purchase should remain traceable to the intended building or area.
05 · What should be ready before production?
Approve the drawing revision, panel list, cut-length schedule, accessory scope and packing labels. Then agree the loading and site handling arrangements. SOMEI can coordinate these records with suppliers; the buyer should confirm site measurements and the installation team’s requirements.
