PRACTICAL PROCUREMENT GUIDE · SOMEI

Multi-Supplier Container Loading Checklist

A loading photograph is evidence of an activity, not a substitute for an order-linked packing list. Before combining goods, confirm what is ready, how it is identified and what will remain outstanding after loading.

01 · Match packages to the order

Use labels that connect each package to a supplier, order and product or project area. Obtain the packing list before collection and check the package count at the agreed handover stage. Document visible discrepancies rather than assuming they can be reconstructed after the container leaves.

02 · Review size, weight and handling

Collect package dimensions and weights from suppliers and discuss unusual lengths, fragile goods and unloading needs with the logistics provider. Container capacity is not only a total-volume calculation. The loading sequence, access, handling equipment and protection arrangements must suit the actual goods.

03 · Make a decision about incomplete orders

Keep a readiness table for every supplier. Identify goods waiting for production, packing, approval or collection. Agree whether to hold or split a shipment and record the commercial implications. A booked departure should not silently become approval to omit items.

04 · Capture a useful loading record

Record identifiable package groups, visible packing condition and the loading stages agreed in your scope. Link photographs to the packing list and note changes or outstanding goods. For long panels, confirm the product-specific handling plan with the relevant supplier and logistics team before loading.

05 · What does the video demonstrate?

The SOMEI video shows long-panel loading activity, including 12-metre panels. It is a visual reference, not an instruction to repeat the same equipment or handling arrangement for every order. Use your actual dimensions and site conditions to agree a suitable plan.
